WHO ORIENTATION PROGRAM ON ADOLESCENT HEALTH AND DEVELOPMENT FOR HEALTH WORKERS - EXPERIENCES FROM CHINA

       In China��one-fourth of over 1.2 billion of total population is adolescents who are experiencing the growth and development. As we know, adolescence is one of important periods for life preparation, and a time filling with opportunity and risk as well. During this time, adolescents have to face the growth and development from their bodies and mind; they are often perplexed by some health problems. But unfortunately, many adults and health providers ignore their health problems.

 

       Improving health services and creating safe and supportive environment is more effective measurement to realize the aim of promoting adolescent health and development, which, in some degree, depends on the capacities of health workers for adolescents. This paper will share our experiences in improving capability building of health workers.
