CHILDREN��S HEALTH STATUS IN IRAN

Since the Islamic revolution, health care system has greatly developed
in Iran.
1. Almost 90% of the whole population is under the coverage of
government health services.
2. Medical education, being under the supervision of ministry of
health has resulted in achieving a better system of health care.
3. WHO��s instructions (Almaata) have been successfully implemented in
Iran.
4. Population Growth rate has reduced from 3.5% to less than 1.2%.
5. The level of female education has risen significantly.
6. There has been a significant decrease in the percentage of goiter
in population due to the increase in the usage of Iodinated salt.
7. Health indicators in Iran are as follows:
