DEVELOPMENT OF SYSTEMATIC NURSING IN CHILDREN��S HOSPITAL

Objective: To regain
the initiative of nursing service for meeting the requirement of new
medical mode and to improve the quality of nursing systematically for
satisfying the needs of children patients. We developed systematic nursing
in our children��s hospital.
Methods: The
hospitalization and treatment of inpatients (admission rate and cure rate)
and satisfying rate with the nurses of patients when leaving the hospital
were investigated with questionnaire and the nurse��s initive of learning
knowledge was compared before and after developing systematic nursing.
Results: The nurses
won initiate in acquiring knowledge. The number of nurses who graduated
from colleges increased from 14 to 35 and more than one hundred of nurses
have taken special courses in college in our children��s hospital. Patients
profited from systematic nursing and the satisfactory rate of the patients
and their parents increased from 87% in 1998 to 95% in 2000.
Conclusion: Systematic nursing energized the work of the
nurses and enables them to be engaged in their work with more attention.
With the patients�� needs satisfied the relationship between patients and
nurses was improved. The hospital provided the patients nursing service of
high quality characteristic of healthy education.
