NURSING EXPERIENCE
IN A 9-MONTH OID BOY AFTER FREQUENCY ABLATION Chen Jianjun, First
Hospital of Peking Health Science Center A 9-month boy underwent frequency ablation (FA) because of
supraventricular techycardia for 8 months. During FA the boy was anesthetized
with rhydroxy butanoic acid and inserted with 5F and 7F catheters from
right femoral vein. After FA the incision was bandaged with a 8cm adhesive
bandage and compressed with 1kg sand bag. 12 hours later, right leg became
swelling and the skin became dark. The circumference of the right lower
extremity increased from 26cm to 29cm. Then the sand bag was removed and
the right lower extremity was made in an up position. Heparin and urokinas
were intravenously administered. After 5 days of such treatment. Since it
is difficult to immobilize the young childs low extremity, which makes it
important to compress the incision with sand bag. However compressing may
increase the opportunity for the emholism formation. Hence, we should pay
attention not only to the hemorrhage from the incision but to the
possibility of embollization in femoral vein after FR.
