Objective: The
study evaluates the value of cTnI in the diagnosis of the pediatric
myocarditis based on quantitative test
of cTnI and CK-MB of 30 children with acute myocarditis, and makes a
contrast with CK-MB.
Methods: cTnI
is tested by ACS:180 Automated chemiluminescences system made by Bayer Co.
CK-MB is tested by the Encord TH auto biochemistry-analytic
system.
Results: 1. In the group of myocarditis, cTnI
and CK-MB are significantly higher than those in the control group
(p<0.001), 22 cases (making up 73%) have elevation of cTnI while 15
cases (making up 50%) have elevation of CK-MB. cTnI shows positive
correlation with CK-MB (r=0.649). 2. After two weeks treatment, cTnI is
still significantly higher than that in control group (p<0.001), but
CK-MB shows no significant difference contrasting with that in control
group (p>0.05). 3. Of the 13 cases with ST-T change in the group of
myocarditis, 12 cases (making up 92%) have cTnI elevation while 6 cases
(making up 46%) have CK-MB elevation.
Conclusion: 1. cTnI and CK-MB are
both sensitive to the diagnosis of pediatric myocarditis. 2. The diagnostic
time window of cTnI is wider than that of CK-MB.3.The specificity of cTnI
reflecting cardiac injury is better than that of CK-MB.
