Objective: To understand the variation of the
causes and agents of nutritional dystrophy (ND) on time shifting in
Guangzhou area.
Method: 2558 cases suffered from ND in 1989-2000 have
been reviewed, analyzed and summarized in order to get a conclusion.
Result: The cases of pure type of ND due to nutritional
deficiency only have been decreased from year to year. The cases caused by
infective agents have been increased because of abuse of broad-spectrum
antibiotics. The strains of antibiotic-resistance bacteria have an
increasing tendency. The cases of ND caused by pathogenetic, enterogenic
fungus have been no more a rare situation. The pathogenetic opportunistic
protozoa infections such as sporozoa infection have been vanished because
of the improvement of water origin, circumstance pollution and also of
isolating domestic animals from living area of host.
Conclusion: The causes and agents causing ND have
been changed from year to year, and we have to take correlative measures to
prevent and treat ND cases happened nowadays.
