Chongqing University of Medical Sciences, Chongqing, 400014 China
Objective: To
explore a management of nursing quality control standard in legal society
of today and make it has predictability, effect and continuity.
Methods:
Investigate the record and nursing practice of 30 hospitalized patients who
were given intensive care and 30 patients with second degree nursing as a
control group. Two groups were received Holistic Nursing Care. The nursing
record must be filed in Intensive
Care Group and it was not filed in second nursing group. The record
included oxygen therapy, fluid infusion, suction, health education, and
patients condition and brief symptoms. We required nurses writing
correctly, sign name, respond for it and hang it bedside. Other 10
hospitals in Chongqing were also investigated about nursing records; the
situation was the same to us. Only keeping the record of second degree
nursing 3 to 7 days. It is a potential factor of medical disputation.
Results: It
is showed that the nursing quality was significantly higher in intensive
care group (92.2%) than in the second degree nursing group (73.3%). The
satisfaction of patients has increased from 74.4% to 94.4 %. Beside we havent legal trouble and
complain caused by nursing in two years. But the qualified rate of nursing
record was 76.6% in intensive
care group and 65.5% in second-degree group, which was much lower than the
nursing quality. However it increased from 76.6% to 96.6 % in intensive
care group after discharge of patients. It means that the paper was
corrected after discharge of patients.
Conclusion: All nursing record filed can
facilitate the nursing work, make patients understand our work and
satisfied with us. On the other hand, it is a legal evidence of patients
condition in hospitalized period. Revise nursing record is illegal. From
now on we should pay more attention to it in our work.
