Objective: To evaluate the clinical
efficiency and safety of early and long-term course of Becotide (BCD)
combined with special immuno- densensitization (SID) in treating infantile
asthma.
Methods: Eighty-two patients with
infantile asthma were administered BCD and SID compared with the controls
including forty-six patients with infantile asthma without treatment. The
total course was at least one year and the average time of the following up
was 2.5 years .The level of serum IgE, IgG, IgA, IgM, T lymphocyte subsets
and pulmonary function were tested before and after the treatment.
Results: PEF and FEV1 in the
patients received the treatment recovered compared with the controls. Serum
IgG, IgA, CD3, CD8 increased and IgE, CD4/CD8
decreased significantly (P<0.01). The total clinical effeciency rate was 91.46% (75/82).
Conclusions: Early and long-time
course of BCD and SID are effective on treating and preventing infantile
asthma.
