Objective: To elaborate the relationship between 2 kinds of cardiovascular
regulating peptides ( calcitonin gene related peptide ,CGRP; neuropeptide
Y, NPY ) and congenital heart disease ( CHD) with pulmonary hypertension (
PH ). And to evaluate the relationship between the tumor necrosis factor
(TNF) level and severity of PH.
Method:
67 CHD patients with PH and 13 without PH were studied. .The levels of
serum CGRP. NPY and TNF are tested by radioimmunoassay .The preoperational
and the postoperational levels of serum NPY and CGRP were compared, and a
correlation analysis between the levels of serum CGRP and NPY were made.
Results:
There were significant differences in serum levels of CGRP and NPY between
the non-PH group and mild, moderate, severe PH groups. There was significant
difference in serum TNF levels between the non-PH group and moderate,
severe PH group. In mild and moderate PH groups, there were significant
difference between the preoperational levels of NPY and CGRP and the
postoperational levels of them. In severe PH group, there wasnt
significant difference between the preoperational and postoperational
levels of NPY and CGRP. There was modest negative correlation between the
levels of NPY and CGRP.
Conclusion: CGRP, NPY and TNF play important effects on the mechanism of
CHD with PH. The elevation of
NPY /CGRP has a great effect on the shaping and development of PH.
