A PRELIMINARY STUDY ON THE
RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PSYCHOLOGICAL DURING PREGNANT TO NEONATAL
NEUROBEHAVIOR

Objective: The purpose is to study the
relationship between the psychological status during pregnancy to neonatal
neurobehavior and to find out the most important factor in order to carry
out intervention to improve the neurobehavioral development of the
neonates.
Methods: 162 pregnancy and their
newborn were enrolled in our study, the mother was asked to finish the
Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ), Symptom Checklist 90 (SCL-90) and
Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS) during 4-6 month after pregnancy, their
general condition and relative question were investigated at the same time.
The neurobehavioral of the newborn was assessed with Neonatal Behavioral
Neurological Assessment (NBNA) on 12-14 day and 26-28 after birth. The
conditions during delivering were collected.
Results:
There is
significant relationship between the psychological status of the mothers
during pregnancy to the neurobehavior of their newborns, also the pregnant
week and the Apgar score are related.
Conclusion: The psychological status of
the pregnant mothers during pregnancy will certainly affect their neonatal
neurobehavior. If we pay more attention to the psychological health care of
the pregnant mother, we may improve the children��s neurobehavior more
efficiency.
