Objective:
To
explore the application of Neonatal Critical Score (NCS) as the indicator
for transportation high-risk infant.
Method: According to Critical
Score for newborn, 177 newborns to be transported to our NICU by automobile
from Mar of 1998 to Dec of 1999 were divided into ~100、~90、~80 and~69 score four groups to
investigate the relationship between the score and the prognosis、multiple organ
dysfunction syndrome and the degree of injury.
Results: The rank of major
disease in the transported newborns is
pneunonia、premature infant、HIE、complicated congenital
heart disease、RDS;The lower the grade, the
more the number of impaired organ, the higher the fatality rate; The occurrence of
impaired organ was highest in the nervous system, the next were respiratory、urinary、cardiovascular and
digestive system.
Conclusion: NCS can reflect the
degree of illness in newborn and is completely appropriate for local
hospital to act as guide for the transportation of high-risk infant. It is
suggested that the score less than 90 should be suitable for
transportation. The single index can also act as the indicator for
transportation if the score can't be well performed.
