A COMPARATIVE STUDY
ON THE EFFICACY OF EARLY INTERVENTION BETWEEN THE BRAIN CT AND DEVELOPMENT
QUOTIENT IN THE NEONATAL HYPOXIC ISCHEMIC ENCEPHALOPATHY Zhang XF, Zhou DY,
Gao HJ, Zhang Y, Li M, Liu GH Harbin Childrens
Hospital, Harbin, China Objective: To explore
the efficacy of early intervention on the newborns suffered from hypoxic
ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) through a series of follow-up cases, which
were examined the development quotient (DQ) and the brain CT, and evaluate
early prognosis of the neonatal HIE. Methods: One hundred
survivors suffered from neonatal HIE (II, II - III) which received early
intervention, were followed up for two years and examicied CT and DQ. Results: 1. An early
intervention was carried for improving the prognosis of the newborns with
HIE(II, II - III), The normal rate of their brain CT and DQ in early
intervention group were higher than no-intervention group. These
differences were statistically significant, P<0.01. There were no
significant differences in neonatal HIE (III), P>0.05. 2.The follow-up
examination showed that the high correlation between the brain CT and DQ in
early intervention group, r=0.88. The brain CT in early intervention group
was improved, accompanied by the improvement of clinical signs (DQ level).
Meanwhile, the low correlation between the brain CT and DQ in
no-intervention group, r=0.55. Conclusion: Early
intervention can improve clearly the prognosis of neonatal HIE. CT
integrated with DQ can improve accuracy and early diagnosis.
