NEPHROTIC SYNDROME
WAS TREATED WITH THE COMBINATION TRADITIONAL CHINESE AND WESTERN MEDICINE:
CLINICAL ANALYSIS 51 CASES Zhang

To probe into nephrotic kidney syndrome treated with a combination of
traditional Chinese and western medicine, which gained a good deal of
enlightenment from the course of disease, curative effect, side effect,
etc. Method:
From February 90 to December 96, we cured 51 cases who suffering from kidney
syndrome - male: 48 cases, female: 3 cases. Their ages were 5 - 12� years old. The course of disease was 11
months or 5 years or so. Nine of them were treated with methyl prednisone
1000 mg. once a day, keeping 3 days. 42 cases were treated with prednisone
40─80mg
every day. keep one month or two months. The prednisone was reduced 5mg
every 10 days, after albuminuria turned into negative. The last part of
treatment kept 5mg prednisone to be taken a day. The course of treatment
was 2 - 3 years. 13 cases were treated with cyclophosphamide a day. once a
month, going on three times. The rest of cases were dripped intravenously
with 200mg cyelophosphamide every day. Once every second day. Dosage was 2g
in all. The patients was dripped intravenously with 200ug prostaglandinE1. The
course of treatment was 15 days The patients were supplied suitably with
plasma or albumin.15 cases were dripped intravenously with 2.5g ramma ball
egg white a day, continued treating 7 days. Spleen and kidney were enriched
warmly with Chinese medicine. invigorate the circulation of blood, extravasated
blood got rid of aeration and vented water prescription. Results:
We cured 46 cases. 5 cases are being cured.
Two of them in 1996 are cured. Conclusion:
Kidney syndeome was treated with the combination of traditional� Chinese and Western medicine to make the
course of treatment shortened, which improved the rate of curing and
relaxing and which avoided the sidefunction of medicine and reduced the
side function of hormone medicine. The patients who married have a child at
a birth. Their lives are improved greatly.
